Solange and Music Director Alan Ferguson marry in New Orleans

Congratulations are in order for Solange Knowles. She is a married woman. The singer, 28, and her beau, music director Alan Ferguson, 51, reportedly jumped the broom in New Orleans ,over the weekend, before their closest friends and family.

Solange and Alan have kept their engagement and wedding a complete secret, and the ceremony was a small affair.

The couple kicked off their wedding weekend in style with a intimate pre-wedding bash on Saturday night at Indywood Cinema, where they showed a short video about how their love story began and played the old film they watched together on their first date, Mahogany, reports. The bride’s big sis, Beyoncé, brother-in-law Jay Z, 10 year old son Daniel Julez, Momma Tina Knowles and ‘boo’ actor Richard Lawson and singer Janelle Monae was among those loved ones in attendance to support the happy couple.

The event had a chic, vintage, simplistic theme. The lovebirds held their ceremony at Marigny Opera House in New Orleans. The bride wore a cream pantsuit with a cape and plunging V-neck, created by fashion designer Stephane Rolland, on her big day. She accented the chic look with a red lip. The groom matched in a white suit sans tie. The pair arrived via white-painted vintage bicycles, and it was all about the details: The bride’s basket held flowers!

Ferguson, 51, has directed videos for Katy Perry and John Legend, and won a BET Award for Best Video Director for co-directing Beyoncé’s “Party” and “Dance for You” music videos.

This is Knowles’ second wedding. She married Daniel Smith in February 2004 at age 17 and they divorced in October 2007.

Congrats to the bride and groom. In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more wedding and honeymoon ‘tea’ to share with you.
