Barbadian production house BASSink Productionspresents the Groove Theory Riddim, available worldwide from all major digital retailers on June 16, 2015, from FOX FUSE. Composed by producer Dwain “Dwaingerous” Antrobus, the hit compilation was created for the 2015 Crop Over season, Barbados’ annual carnival celebrations, which is currently underway. The album garnered mainstream attention, debuting on the iTunes U.S. home page (New Music) on its day of release. It also debuted at #28 on the iTunes U.S. Reggae Top Albums chart.

Showcasing five sizzling songs, Groove Theory Riddim features soca stars Patrice Roberts with “On De Low,” Biggie Irie with “Sweet Type of Way,” Ricardo Druewith “Professional,” Lil Rick with “Gym Instructor” and rising sensation Sekon Stawith “Special.”

BASSink Productions has been on the forefront of the Barbadian soca movement and has been integral in making the island nation a serious contender in releasing quality soca music, for years now.

Both riddims boast six sizzlers each, with theProject 5 Riddimspawning the international soca hit“Feter” by Benjai, while Soca Salsa Riddim birthed the monster jam “Bam Bam” by Olatunji. Other soca stars stealing the spotlight on these compilations include Machel Montano, Patrice Roberts, Denise Belfon and Mr. Renzo, and Jamaican dancehall slayer Aidonia, among others.

Trinidadian hit houses MillBeatz Entertainment and StarBlu Entertainment have been crafting sleek soca sounds that have made both studios mainstays on Caribbean music platforms worldwide. Both compilations were originally released to radio for the 2013 Trinidad Carnival season and now make their debut internationally, much to the delight of fans everywhere.

Although diminutive in stature, Shanta Prince is a powerhouse on the stage. Her unique style of sound is evident in the strong, groovy vocals that she belts out on“Badmind.”
