Usually meeting in nostalgic locations, Chin’s high profile and best kept secret guests offer viewers little known, yet critical aspects of the music and culture. Guest artists like Ninja Man, Josey Wales, Joe Likshott and various others reflect on and disclose their strong ties to sound system culture, the nexus of Jamaican music and culture. In November 2016, Sound Chat TV made its debut aboard Damian Jr. Gong Marley’s iconic “Welcome to Jamrock Reggae Cruise,” providing the ship’s thousands of guests with round the clock programming through closed circuit TV.

Following Sound Chat Radio, World Clash is Irish and Chin’s most recognizable brand. World Clash is the industry’s largest authentic annual sound clash (Jamaican-based DJ competition utilizing Reggae and Dancehall music). Launched in 1998 in New York City, the top notch competition brings sounds from throughout the world to converge and showcase talent, skills and music knowledge. Considered the Super Bowl of sound clashes, World Clash has elevated sound system competition to an unprecedented level. Marketing World Clash as a stage show and sounds and selectors as celebrities, Irish and Chin catapulted the event into the mainstream. The success of World Clash prompted Irish and Chin to stage the sound clash in Jamaica, United Kingdom, Canada and Antigua. World Clash has been very visible in the media. Most recently, the event was featured in the New York Times.
In 2009, Irish and Chin incorporated Reeewind into their growing repertoire of events. Geared toward showcasing a nostalgic era of Jamaican music and culture, Reeewind brings vintage artists to perform on sound systems. Billed as “rub-a-dub,” some of Reggae and Dancehall music’s most pivotal voices have delivered performances on electrifying sound systems. Artists like the late Suga Minott, Barrington Levy, Shabba Ranks, Freddie McGregor, Luciano, Yellow Man, Josey Wales, Charlie Chaplin, Brigadier Jerry, Sista Nancy and countless others have wowed thousands of fans, while performing on legendary sounds like King Sturgav, Jah Love and Downbeat to name a few. A special edition of the event was featured in Billboard magazine.
SOUND FEST VIBEZ IN THE PARK
Established in Summer 2016, Sound Fest Vibez in the Park is New York’s first outdoor sound system festival and stage show. Attracting several thousand revelers to Roy Wilkins Park, Sound Fest Vibez in the Park featured 14 stellar sound systems. The impeccable line up of sounds offered musically kinetic outdoor entertainment. Complete with lots of vibes, food, fun and music, Sound Fest Vibez in the park proudly showcased the sound system, a major element of Jamaican music and culture.
The Rumble Series was formally introduced by Irish and Chin in late 2015 to bring new stars into the sound clash industry. With a limited and seasoned pool of clashing sound systems, new faces were a must to sustain the vibrant culture. Further, the Rumble Series allows the talent and skills of promising sounds (those with regional buzz but not international exposure) to be showcased to mass audiences. With Japan and Canada Rumble concluded, up next is U.S. Rumble, followed by U.K. Rumble, Europe Rumble and Caribbean Rumble.
IRISH AND CHIN ROOTS THEATER
Irish and Chin expanded into Roots Theater in 2009, further cementing their position as leaders in Caribbean entertainment and broadening their audience. Staging more than a dozen theater productions throughout the New York Tri-State, New England and Washington, D.C., Irish and Chin attracted sold-out audiences. Using their niche for staging events, Irish and Chin takes a unique approach to play promotions. Namely, Irish and Chin utilizes a grassroots style of play promotions (a heavy street presence and radio), like that of a Dancehall event.
